Marvel Collector Corps Unboxing: June Box!

(You have no idea how many times I accidentally typed “Hank Pym” instead of “Scott Lang” like sincerely.)

It has now been two months since Unboxing the debut box from Marvel’s Collector Corps, and here we are again. I come downstairs Friday morning and this is sitting on the counter.

So without further ado, here is the Unboxing for Collector Corps June box!

The box this time around celebrates the small and mighty Ant-Man, who’s film will be coming out July 17th this year! I, personally, am pretty excited for Ant-Man despite all the surrounding controversy online, and I’m more than happy to give Scott Lang a chance. (Also because Cassie Lang. Also because where are my Young Avengers, Marvel? Where are they?)

My biggest concern with this box was if it would live up to it’s debut. Spoiler Alert; my worries were for nothing, and the box was wonderful.

The outside and inner lid of the box are absolutely beautiful. There’s that major attention to detail that really is such a small addition but it makes such a big difference. Then, like the first box, there’s an inner lid with a lovely pin and patch on the top!

I open the inner lid and the first thing I see is the cutest Funko toy ever.

This months Funko Vinyl Exclusive is once again original and completely exciting – I had no idea this was what the toy was going to be (either Collector Corps kept it under wraps or I just don’t pay enough attention to anything. Most likely the latter.)

This exclusive Ant-Man Funko figurine is a two in one deal; one with regular sized Funko Scott Lang, and then one teenyweenytitcytinyohmygod Ant-Man Scott! Now, being that he has super strength due to the whole, proportionate, ant strength thing Scott has going on, and after the previews showing him kicking the crap out of men at least 10 times my stature, “cute” is probably a word I shouldn’t associate with him.

But this little vinyl is so cute, really awesomely detailed, and it’s really original too. Putting him alongside the regular sized Funko is a really lovely touch, because a lot of people probably would have been happy with just Ant-Man, teeny vinyl (I would have been) but this was just a really nice addition and I’m so pleased with the June exclusive.

Next up, we have not one, but two mystery boxes, from the mystery mini series.

IMG_0743I’m not going to lie to you all, I was a bit nervous about this – my luck with mystery toys tends to be very bad, so I was honestly expecting to get the exact same toy twice. However I do get why there’s two mystery boxes – Ant-Man isn’t as popular and easy to access as Avengers toys, and I know the Collector Corps team want to give as much to their subscribers as possible. So I was not phased by that choice (it could actually be pretty cool! More chance for the rare ones!) but as I said, my luck with these little guys tends to be bad.

Thankfully, I was not disappointed. These two little dudes are so cool. Like the little Adorbz Ultron I recieved in the April box, the attention to detail on these guys is absolutely lovely, with the suits all detailed out and sweet looking. I really, really love both of them and I’m debating putting them in my car with me. Because reasons.

The t-shirt for this month once again delivers in quality and originality. It’s not as flashy or colourful as the Ultron shirt, but honestly, that does the Ant-Man shirt a lot of favours. It’s a really simple, but quirky design. The print is also good quality and doesn’t seem like it’s going to fade anytime fast; which is good because walking around with “NI-N/ |” and a tiny zombie person on my shirt could look strange. I love the teeny tiny Scott on the shirt, and I love the “actual size” memo underneath. I’m such a sucker for small things. Can you tell?

The Collector Corps exclusive variant comic for this box is Ant-Man issue #5. It’s a no brainer we’d get an Ant-Man comic in the Ant-Man box, and the cover art really delivers. It’s bold, it’s bright and it’s strong. It showcases Ant-Man really well, looking determined and fierce as hell. I don’t read the Ant-Man comics so I can’t comment on how well it fits the story arc going on but, I do know it looks great, and I love it.

Collector Corps continue to deliver with their second box; once again, the attention to detail and care taken by the people involved shows real commitment, and a desire to bring fans the best exclusive products they can. They’re really sticking to their “No Fluff” policy, and it shows, especially when they can bring such good content with a character like Ant-Man, who’s not unknown by any means – just not as easily accessible merch-wise as the rest of the heroes would be. Overall; I’m just thrilled with this box, and my ever growing collection of goodies from it.

Thank you Collector Corps!

(PS; TELL ME WHAT THE AUGUST BOX IS PLEASE. I won’t tell anyone!)  IMG_0751
